Personal

I was born in 1946 and grew up with my two brothers in East Los Angeles in the  Bandini Barrio neighborhood.

Karen Eubanks and I were married in 1967.  We raised a daughter, Alicia, and a son. Mick,  in Hacienda Heights, California.

In 1998, we moved from a suburban and urban area in the San  Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County, to a rural area in Red Bluff, Tehama County, California.
We enjoyed gardening and outdoor recreation on our 5 acre rural property.

Our adult children are married with families, and live in Vancouver, Washington.

My personal interests and hobbies include: gardening and landscaping at our home,  fitness and sports activities, developing Internet web sites, walking adventures, poetry
research and writing, string figures, computer software, blogs, natural history, graphical arts, music, martial arts, yoga, harmonica playing, philosophy, local school sports
events, and enjoying activities with family and friends.

I am very active in many fitness programs both as a teacher and participant.   I specialize in health, fitness and recreational activities for older persons.

I first read classical and modern Western and Eastern philosophers when I was fifteen, and  have since considered myself a person with a humanistic, pragmatic,
secular and philosophical outlook on most  matters.
