other activities and projects scheduled on the weekends in the
summer.
No time or energy for exercise - work was very tiring.
Our vegetable garden is looking great and we eat vegetables from it every
day. We have been drying apricots and plums. Lots of extra
watering
to match the high outdoor temperatures.

"In illusion what is true?
Illusion is from the outset true.
In illusion what is manifested?
The very illusion itself is manifestation.
If this is so,
then one can never be apart from illusion?
No matter how you seek illusion,
you won't find it."
- Ts'ao Shan, 840-901, Roaring Stream

Thank you, Master."

better selves,

reading, research, or writing the past week. I've learned more about home
electrical circuitry this past week.
Karen is a great cook. She cooks a variety of foods. Tonight we
enjoyed
Thai food.

"Leaving the weeds, entering the weeds;
Who knows how to seek them out?
White clouds, layer upon layer;
Red sun, clear and bright.
Looking to the left, there are no flaws;
Looking to the right, already old.
Have you not seen the man of Cold Mountain?
He traveled so swiftly;
Ten years he couldn't return,
And forgot the road by which he came.
- Hsueh-tou (980-1052), Roaring Stream

encumbered
with your old nonsense."

"Asking without knowing.
Answering, still not understanding.
The moon is cold, the wind is high--
On the ancient cliff, frigid juniper.
How delightful: on the road,
He met a man who had attained the Path.
And didn't use speech or silence to reply.
His hand grasps the white jade whip.
And smashes the black dragon's pearl.
If he hadn't smashed it,
He would have increased its flaws."

perhaps
for the rest of our lives we will be unwilling to settle for less."
- Kurt Hahn
Temperatures reach a peak of 105 degrees around 5pm.
I finally finished all the electrical rewiring projects - 7 of them - this
morning.
This past 9 days I installed a rooftop venting fan in the garage, a rooftop
venting
fan over the attic above our office, and a gable attic fan above our living
and
dining room area. We think these three fans really helped us keep
temperatures
down indoors during this period of 104+ daytime temperatures. All the new
fans
are controlled by a separate switch. I rewired the garage
completely. I finished
all the rewiring to distribute demands on to four different different
circuits. An
important project - COMPLETED!!!! Probably saved at least $1,200 in
electrician
services fees.
We use an

July 17, Sunday, 2005
"Spring has its hundred flowers,
Autumn its moon,
Summer has its cooling breezes,
Winter its snow.
If you allow no idle concerns
To weight on your heart,
Your whole life will be one
Perennial good season."
- The Golden Age of Zen, p. 286
Winter weeks we huddled by the hearth,
Spring days we shoveled snow,
Summer hours we stood in cooling rain,
Autumn minutes we stared at the setting sun.
We had idle thoughts, we had no thoughts.
Life made our hearts cry, and it lifted our spirits high,.
The ordinary, the exceptional,
The chosen, the accepted,
The good, the bad,
Fresh figs, rotten peaches,
The beautiful, the deformed.
They appeared and disappeared.
Samsara and Nirvana ....
Here and Gone.
- Mike Garofalo, Above the Fog

After months of frustrations with the ChicoNet web host, I switched today to
BlueHost.Com. ChicoNet frequently
was down or could not be found. A last
straw was when I went to Google to look for the Eight Section Brocade.
Usually,
at the top of the list was my own document on the Eight Section Brocade
Qigong.
It was nowhere to be found. This means when Google went on a spider
update,
the could not find www.egreenway.com on
the WWW. I can't afford to spend hundreds
of hours creating wepages only to have them disappear from the WWW because the
web host can't provide the service. Many times, when I tried to
access the site
using ChicoNet I would get a message that the website did not exit.
This is my 3rd web host for www.egreenway.com. We shall see.
Switching is a huge job in itself. All files need to be FTP'd to the
new server.
Email accounts need to be set up.
BlueHost offers a number of add-on packages loaded via the Fantastico
cPanel.
I plan to switch my weblog (blog) to one of the options, and add a photo
gallery,
among other options.
